About this paddle route
The Wild section of the Rogue was among the original eight rivers protected by the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act in 1968, and it remains one of the most sought-after multi-day permits in the West. Thirty-four miles of green water through a road-free canyon, with lodges and camps along the way. Blossom Bar is the crux: a boulder garden that has to be entered correctly, and the reason a lot of parties scout it on foot.

Know before you go
- A limited-entry permit is required in season and is issued by lottery. Apply months ahead.
- Scout Blossom Bar. The consequences of the wrong line there are serious.
- Fire restrictions and a carry-out toilet requirement apply on the whole section.
