  We had so much fun on our little family adventure! Beautiful scenery and lovely day. We were first timers and the only feedback I have would be to make sure people know the basics before they get on the water. Luckily we were quick learners and figured it out on our own.

  I think we went on a day the river was at a wonderful level and the temperature couldn't have been more perfect. Every staff member we interacted with from JRO was pleasant and professional. We had never done any floating as a family before, so having something fairly close to Branson was great for us beginners to have plenty of hotel and meal options easily at our reach. While it is a very short drive from town, it still feels peaceful and relaxing out on the river (just what I was after). The personal inner tube option definitely requires you to be prepared with water shoes or some kind of foot protection, (not flip flops) which they tell you and they offer some basic aqua shoes at their office/store. We did not camp this time... don't go expecting sparkling clean or pristine condition if you are a camper, but it was honestly in alright condition for the cost. All our equipment worked as expected and they gave good instructions (what to watch for as the halfway point and pull out spot, etc). My kiddo enjoyed the rope swings and gravel bars along the river. We hope to be back and try some paddling based activities. Thanks to JRO for a memorable part of our summer and helping us out by keeping our car keys safe and dry at the check in desk! :-)

  I called and asked how long it takes to float on tubes. I was told “3-6 hours, but most people finish in 4 hours. I’ve never seen anyone take longer than that. So I rented 6 tubes for 08/01/26. We woke up that morning to 65 degrees 🥶 when we got there I asked if we could switch to kayaks or something else since it is only going to be in the low 70s and cloudy all day. I was told (somewhat sarcastic) there was no way they could switch us to anything else on a Saturday. So we decided to tough it out on tubes for 4 hours. Then we were told we could not take our inflatable cooler because it was “too big to haul” we had two kids with us age 12 and 15 and now we can’t take anything to drink. We get on the river and about halfway through the wind started blowing us upstream!! We were told no matter what if you are not back by 7 pm you will have to pay for another day. At the rate we were going there was no way we would make it back by 7 so we started walking with our tubes. It was not fun at all. Four people in our party ended up way ahead of the other 2. Luckily some Good Samaritans on a raft let us hook up to them and they took us the rest of the way so we didn’t have to walk. They also picked up 4 other couples because one tube went flat and the other three were struggling like we were. I feel like they need to give out a paddle with tubes for days like this or they should definitely let you switch to a boat of some kind. I felt like the staff was a bit rude about our cooler when they obviously had enough room on the bus. We weren’t given any other options. So they knew they were sending 6 people out on the river for at least four hours with no way to take water. Then I found out that the people on the raft that rescued us also had reservations for tubes but they let them switch to a raft. I am all for rules and regulations but they need to be the same for everyone! I was not impressed with this company at all but the river was beautiful. Even with hitching a ride from the raft, it took us 6 hours!!!

  I really enjoyed the 6 mile float trip, the weather was perfect, the water is great and the people are fun. Now why I rated a 3/5. The basic details were not communicated very well. Our departure was at 11, we got there at 1045 thinking we could just check in and get on the bus. Not the case, there was a big gaggle of people who also had similar reservations and we didn't get on the bus until 12 (we also had a large group so we had to wait a little longer to make sure our whole group fit on the bus). You will want to look over your gear before you depart. 2 of our group members grabbed tubes that looked full but deflated after being sat on for a while. 1 of them noticed early enough to be able to run back up the bank and get a new one. The other person did not and just ended up trading back and forth with other members of our group. They said the half way point for the float is a house on stilts. I assumed it would be on the water front, it was not. It was up the hill on the bank barely in view as you passed by and it is easily missed. We stopped a few times early on in the river to eat food, swim around, enjoy our time but later on were pulling the group down stream rushing to make sure we made it before the 7PM cut off time since we had no clue where in the float we were just that it was getting late. There is no exception even though we didn't get to the river until 1 hr after our time. Yes it was many of our first float, yes we could have prepared a bit better, yes we all had a grand time but also the experience would be much easier (especially for first timers) if there were clear indicators of where in the river you are at, the speed of the water for the day and the number of people attending the float that day so we could gauge the time we needed to be there, the time it would take to get from start to finish more accurately and how close you are to the middle and to the end of the float.
