  We walked in and rented bikes for the whole family and were fitted and geared up with helmets maps suggested routes and water. The e bikes and hard tails were top of the line and perfect to enjoy the trails. We got to see tubers snd canoes on the river. Vies from the overlook were impressive. All in all a great outfit and a memorable day. We would love to return and explore more of the trails. It was a great value, great service and a lot of fun!

  Excellent service and so much fun. Recently visited from the UK and our experience with Downriver was the highlight of our trip. We had a beautiful canoe trip down the river - amazing scenery and seeing turtles was particularly cool for us Brits! We also hired bikes and did an afternoon ride along the riverside trail. Was perfect for us as it was mainly leisurely but had optional routes which made for a healthy challenge (if you can get to Cullers overlook the view is a real reward!) The staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and above all - friendly. Would highly highly recommend using Downriver!

  My family’s Downriver kayak trip was amazing! Audrey was super helpful and gave us tips on how to manage the river currents. They gave me a waterproof bag for my phone. They drove us up the river and set up all the kayaks for us. We were all comfortable in the kayaks, even my dad who was able to have an XL kayak to be more comfortable. They have an awesome gift shop with cool merch. The staff are all so nice and I would totally come back for a longer trip on the river!

  We had a great experience on the shorter kayak trip! Audrey was wonderful and so helpful from the start. I was a little nervous because I’m not in the best health, but being dropped off right where it was easy to get into the kayak made a huge difference. The kayaks were comfortable and well set up—my large Owala water bottle fit in the cup holder, and my husband, who is a big guy, had plenty of room in his kayak. They also offered phone bags to keep phones safe and held onto our car keys so we didn’t have to worry about losing them in the river. Some of us said we would bring a pad to sit on next time, but I was fine on the hard plastic seat. The river was very clear and beautiful to look into, and my kids loved swimming in the deeper spots. The water was very low when we went, so we did get stuck a few times, but it became part of the fun! We were able to shimmy through shallow areas or help pull each other along, and we laughed a lot. One of the best parts was how easy the landing area was at the end. You simply leave the kayak on the shore and carry back your paddle and life vest. For anyone taking the shorter trip, I recommend bringing a large water bottle and a snack. I wore a swimsuit with clothes over it, but my outfit ended up completely drenched. The kayak did have a storage area where I could stow it, but I wish I had brought a dry change of clothes and left it in the car. Also, wear Chacos, old sneakers, or another secure water shoe—not anything that can easily fall off. The riverbed can be rough and may cut your feet if you go barefoot. We would absolutely use this company again!
