  Cameron from Adventure Child was amazing! We did the Sunset & Stargazing Kayak tour. This tour includes a stop at the Emerald Cave to see it all lit up with a green glow from the light reflection. We went on a day that was windy but Cameron was able to guide us through it. His passion for geology and history came through and we learned about rock formations and the history of the area. He provides plenty of water and an assortment of food courses. We got fruits (grapes, nectarines, apples), salad, corn on the cob (with flaming hot cheetos - Mexican style), turkey hot dogs (he’s able to accommodate if you’re vegetarian or vegan), and s’mores! Oh and can’t forget about the drinks. We spent about 2-3 hours at the campground enjoying some stories under the bright strawberry moon lighting up our night. Or else it would have been super dark! We saw so many stars and enjoyed the stillness of the water and the sounds of nature. The kayaking back was so peaceful and smooth. There something so eerily beautiful about kayaking in the dark. Overall, would highly recommend this tour to everyone! Oh also - he takes videos and pictures of you and send them over! So you will always have memories!

  We did the half-day Emerald Cove kayaking tour with Adventure Child and had a great experience. It was a hot day, but the water was refreshingly cold and made for the perfect outing. Our guide, Gino, was outstanding. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone in the group was comfortable throughout the trip. He shared interesting information along the way and took photos for everyone, which was a nice touch. What really stood out was how proactive and helpful he was on the water. He assisted a group whose canoe had overturned and filled with water, helping empty it and get them safely back on their way. He also helped another group whose paddleboard had blown away in the wind after they fell off and weren’t tethered. Without his quick response, they likely would have lost the board. Gino’s professionalism, attentiveness, and focus on safety made the trip even better. Highly recommend Adventure Child and, if you’re lucky enough to get Gino as your guide, you’re in great hands!

  Our kayaking tour with Shawn was nothing short of incredible! From the very beginning, he was personable, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making our trip a special adventure. Shawn’s knowledge of the river and surrounding areas really stood out—he knew all the best spots to stop and shared history about the dam and the region along the way. What made the experience even more memorable was how engaging he was with our whole family. He took time to get to know each of us and captured nearly 500 amazing photos and videos, giving us memories we’ll treasure forever. He went above and beyond in every way—preparing delicious lunches and even towing our kids (ages 13 and 10) when they got tired, which we truly appreciated. His focus on safety, combined with his friendly and fun personality, made the entire day relaxing and enjoyable. We never felt rushed—Shawn made sure we could take our time and fully soak in the experience (literally, we found all the hot springs, which were delightful). It was clear that his priority was giving us the best day possible, and he absolutely delivered. The waterfalls, Emerald Cave and other cabs were icing on the cake. We highly recommend Shawn and Adventure Child to anyone looking for a memorable and well-guided kayaking adventure!

  If you want the full “only in Vegas” experience, book the nighttime kayak tour. It was 114° when we launched, the river was ice cold, and somewhere in the middle of the trip we got blasted by what our guide Cameron insisted on calling a “Vegas monsoon.” (The rest of us might have called it a dust storm, but who’s keeping score?) The wildlife absolutely delivered. We plenty of fish, plenty of birds, and the highlight of the night: a raccoon enthusiastically crunching on a crawfish like it was dinner and a show. We even spotted a desert fox, which felt like winning the wildlife lottery! Cameron was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely wanted everyone to have a great time. He also has the energy of someone whose brain is running about six tabs at once—he chatted happily about everything under the sun (and moon), which honestly became part of the entertainment. He also packed enough snacks to feed what appeared to be an entire kayaking expedition… or possibly a small village. Nobody was going hungry! Great scenery, great wildlife, unexpectedly dramatic weather, and a memorable guide. If you’re looking for a unique break from the Strip, I’d absolutely recommend it. Just be prepared: apparently in Vegas, a dust storm is a monsoon, the water is somehow freezing in 114-degree heat, and raccoons have surprisingly refined taste in seafood.
